NANS Urges the Suspension of Nigerian Institution Running Unaccredited Course.

.....NANS has urged the suspension of Nigerian learning institutions running unaccredited courses.

This follows the Federal Ministry of Education's announcement to suspend evaluation and accreditation of degree certificates from Benin and Togo.

The undercover investigation conducted by a Nigerian newspaper unveiled a degree mill in Cotonou, Benin Republic. Elvis Ekundina, the factional National Senate President, commended the Federal Government on this.

NANS called for the Federal Government to investigate the activities of the Federal Ministry of Education, NUC, NYSC, and other agencies involved with obtaining degree certificates from foreign universities.

The student body also asked for the searchlight to be shone on unaccredited courses being offered by privately owned tertiary institutions, as these are damaging the education sector and defrauding young Nigerians.

NANS proposed that the Federal Government collaborate with it and other student bodies to eradicate illegal tertiary institutions, and thereby revitalize the nation's education sector
