..Northern governors donate N180 million to Kaduna bombing victims.
The Northern Governors Forum, which is made up of the governors of the 19 Northern states, has donated N180 million to the victims of the inadvertent bombing in Tudun Biri village in Kaduna State's Igabi Local Government Area.
During their inaugural meeting on Friday, the forum's Chairman and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Yahaya, who made the announcement alongside other colleagues, presented a symbolic cheque to the state's governor, Senator Uba Sani.
The meeting was conducted at Kaduna's Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House.
The governors' meeting planned to discuss concerns such as oil exploration, agriculture, and instability in the region. They also offer their condolences to the governor of the host state for the unintended bombing in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area, which resulted in several casualties. The strike has been blamed on the Nigerian Army.
The governors are meeting for the first time since their election in the general elections in May 2023, and it is being hosted by Senator Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State.
Dikko Radda, the governor of Katsina State, and the deputy governors of Jigawa, Bauchi, Kano, Yobe, and Kwara states, who are representing their state governors, are among those present at the conference.
The Chairman of the forum and Gombe state governor while Addressing his colleagues, condemned the accidental bombing on the people of Kaduna State's Igabi Local Government Area, Alhaji Muhammad Yahaya stated that regional governors must do more.
