Breaking news;
Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 presidential election, firmly rejected the decision rendered by the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC). The PEPC ruling affirmed President Bola Tinubu's electoral victory, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 general election.
Obi conveyed his disapproval during a press briefing held on Thursday evening in Onitsha, Anambra State. This announcement followed shortly after Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed a similar stance.
It's worth noting that the former Vice President and PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, also contested the PEPC's verdict affirming Tinubu's election win in the same election held on February 25.
In light of these developments, Peter Obi stated that he had directed his legal team to take the necessary steps to appeal the PEPC's judgement at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
Further details on this matter will be forthcoming.
